Restorative Dentistry has to do with restoring your mouth to a natural, attractive and functional condition.

Procedures used to restore your teeth include crowns, dental implants, inlays and onlays (restorations used when the tooth is tooth is too broken down for a filling but doesn't require a crown), bridges and dentures.

The method used will depend on the state of your teeth or the number of teeth missing and your budget. We will examine your teeth and see which procedure(s) will work best for you.

For complex restorative needs, we are fortunate to have Dr. Jivraj as an expert in dental restoration. He is a prosthodontist, a dental specialty in fixing broken-down teeth or replacing missing teeth, and is more equipped than the general dentist to handle major dental needs.

Dr. Saj Jivraj completed his dental degree at the University of Manchester in England in 1993 and his Advanced Prosthodontic training at the University of Southern California. In addition, he also completed a Masters in Science Education with a specialty in Medical Education at the Rossier School of Education at the University of Southern California. He has very wide and extensive experience in dental restoration and other dentists frequently refer him complex or difficult cases.

Patients must realize that every doctor is licensed to perform any procedure, but most patients would not go to their primary care doctor for heart surgery or even treatment of skin cancer. In this age of marketing and hype patients must be very careful who they seek for complex dental treatment.

The reality is that sophisticated dental treatments that are available to patients today are very complex by nature. Oversimplifications of these treatments are done by those who do not have experience in ramifications of poor judgment.
